In visualizing one sequence of events or one outcome with such fervor we close out the abundance of other possibilities that may also be equally satisfying and wonderful. And yet some of us have been taught that by visualizing it clearly, we can create it.
From experience I have learned that I can also create it by asking for what I want in the aspects of it that mean the most to me and then taking specific steps to allow that to happen. Dreaming about it rarely gets the end product, after all, when not followed by action.
I create a vision board for the year. I create vision boards for each month. And I use them as a visual reminder on what my goals are, my priorities, and what I am working toward. And I take the actions that I feel bring those opportunities closer.
This year is coming to a close. Overall 2015 has been an amazing year of growth and change for me! I am pleased and proud and in this reflecting back it is easy to dismiss any brief disappointments that passed throughout the year. I can see the big picture. I exhale. And I sit with this exhale, this sense of accomplishment.
As I gear up for 2016 it is time once again to sit with my husband and create our year's vision board. It's a time to sit with myself and create a vision for my business, my self-care, and my role in the partnership. It's a time to focus on the inhale. It is a slow, yet eager, inhale.
I'm grateful for all the possibilities before me. I'm grateful to see the cycles of growth and death in different aspects of my life. I'm grateful to know that when one cycle ends another begins and I'm excited to begin again. I'm grateful for 2015; all the lessons, beauty, and support it gave me. I'm grateful for all I've accomplished and all my husband and I have created together. I'm grateful to have experienced my dream wedding. I'm grateful to create a home with my husband and learn the intricacies of each other that only living together allows. I'm grateful to end 2015 with two healthy dogs and a house full of love. And I'm grateful to celebrate that exhale just as I am grateful to draw in the inhale of new possibilities for 2016.
What was the best thing that happened to you this year? What was your biggest accomplishment? What is one goal you hold for 2016?
May you find time to celebrate the year that has passed. May the exhale fill you with contentment. May you inhale the unlimited possibilities of 2016 and step into the new year with confidence. Have a beautiful day!
