I'm grateful for a sunset drive out of town last night with my boyfriend and dogs. I'm grateful for the oportunity to visit his family and celebrate his mom's 70th birthday. I'm grateful to stay up late laughing and sleep in this morning. I'm grateful for the technology that allows me to share my thoughts with you even when wi-fi is unavailable. I'm grateful to find contentment in these moments. Contentment is not the same as settling. It is not a feeling of "I guess this is good enough for now" or "I don't deserve more than this so I guess I'm happy". Contentment is whole. It is a peace within that moment knowing you are blessed to have all you need. Contentment is not a lack of joy but rather the place of resting in that joy. What do you feel in the moments you label contentment? What joy can you find in that peace? If there is something missing, ask for it. Allow that greater abundance to come in. I say this from a place of learning, not teaching. I say this as a reminder to myself because I do struggle with remembering it is ok to ask for things. But having asked last night, I find myself waking content today. Giving myself permisdion to go to a vulnerable place of saying my needs out loud allowed those to be met. I'm grateful for this. I'm grateful for my boyfriend and his family. I'm grateful to have my dogs with me. And I'm grateful for finding contentment on my journey. May your day be blessed with contentment and may you feel the joy within it. Have a beautiful day!
