I'm not a very tech savvy person and often times new products like this leave me frustrated. Generally my husband, who is awesome with stuff like this, comes to my rescue.
This morning, however, we were running a bit behind and he had to leave for work. I wanted my device to sync and it did not feel the same way. Or at least, I was not speaking its language.
After feeling that familiar rise of frustration I made myself pause. I took a step back and reminded myself it wasn't the end of the world if this didn't sync. In the grand scheme of things, this is not really a problem.
In stepping back I was able to give it one last look and found the information I had been missing in my frazzled state. Then with a simple setting change and push of a button it was done. I figured it out!
I'm sharing this story because over the last few weeks I have been allowing my stress to build and with that my patience has decreased. I have been wanting stuff to work and wanting it to work now and when it doesn't I wonder what the message is in it not responding.
In truth, it IS responding. It is responding in turn with my own state. It is responding in chaos and let's face it, nothing works optimally in chaos. Yet today, the minute I calmed myself and tried it from a place of internal balance, the information was right there to support me.
I'm grateful to figure it out; both the device and the mirror of my state. I'm grateful to take a breath and choose to start my Monday on a positive note. I'm grateful for my husband's help and I'm grateful for my ability to figure it out on my own. I'm grateful for new technology to assist my day. And I'm grateful to get an accurate depiction of the activity I get in my day so I can improve on it in the areas I can.
What are you grateful for today? When was a time you were faced with a frustration and were able to figure it out? How is your stress level lately and how is it impacting your day? Is there anything you can do to make small changes and create balance?
May today bless you with time to take those extra breaths. May you find balance in the moment and success in your tasks. Have a beautiful day!
