We all have fears that pop up from time to time. Whether they are "irrational" such as my fear of clowns or "rational" that we will die; we all face a variety of fears throughout our lives. Sometimes the fears are easy enough to calm by ourselves, talking our way out of it. Other times we need comfort and reassurance.
This morning I just want to take a moment to honor the ways we find comfort and the people who help provide us that comfort. It takes teamwork to live a happy, healthy life and I am very grateful for my team.
I'm grateful for my husband who calms my fears when needed and helps pull me back up when I start to feel overwhelmed. I'm grateful for my dogs who snuggle me and give me love when I need a little comfort during the workday. I'm grateful to provide comfort to them as they address their fears like storms and vacuums. I'm grateful for my friends that each have their expertise and I can reach out to for comfort in different situations. I'm grateful for my parents who were and are a great support in calming my fears especially as I head into motherhood. And I'm grateful for a big brother who helped me face a lot of fears as I was growing up so that I could be the strong woman I am today. Last but not least, I'm grateful for myself for the techniques I have taught myself to recenter and calm when things may be a little scary.
Who is on your team? Who comforts you when you are worried or stressed? Have you told them you appreciate them lately?
May today be the rainbow after the storm. May you feel the comfort and love of those around you. Have a beautiful day!
