As a young adult I did a lot of exploring myself. I loved to kayak up a creek or drive down a dirt road to see where it went. Obviously they were not uncharted but they were new to me.
These days most of my exploration is either through the eyes of my daughter as I re-explore leaves and acorns and such, or it is self-exploration as I turn within. We all have this ability to be explorers of ourselves. For me, the reward is understanding what makes me "tick".
I have many triggers these days. It is not a lifestyle I prefer and so I keep digging in to explore what is unsettling me. I have gained some insights but there is still more to be explored. I imagine this is usually the case as we are dynamic creatures, always changing and growing. And so today I set off to explore once again and I celebrate my explorative nature.
I'm grateful to not shy away from the murkier sides of myself. I'm grateful to dive in and explore how to bring light to these areas of fear or pain. I'm grateful to be an explorer at heart both internal and external. I'm grateful to do my best to model healthy behaviors for my daughter. I'm grateful to get to see the world outside through fresh eyes as I explore with my baby.
What would you like to explore? Is there a place you would like to go or a habit you would like to understand?
Whether internal or external, may the universe support our explorations today. May the fruits of our exploration have positive effects on ourselves and the people around us. Have a beautiful day!
