Right now I have the melody of crickets and insects at my window. As the sun begins to rise the birds will begin joining in with their own morning melody. The hum of the refrigerator provides the soft background static. A new day has begun.
When I took my daughter to a new park the other day they had this beautiful colorful xylophone. It was there at the edge of the playground overlooking the lake and in the distance the ducks provided a chorus. We played the xylophone for a while and then I showed her how nature had provided some maracas to play also in the form of small bunches of dried leaves still on the branch. We even had a pretty good free form beat going for a bit.
I'm so grateful for ears to hear all life's melodies. I'm grateful for this beautiful xylophone being included into the playground. I'm grateful for all the music and melodies that nature provides, especially as I start my morning. I'm grateful to use music as a tool to calm me when I am struggling or pick me up when I want to celebrate. I'm grateful to hear music everywhere. And I am grateful for the times I can simply get lost in dancing.
What is your favorite music? How does it make you feel and when do you choose to listen?
May today's soundtrack embrace us and be one to uplift. May we write the words to our own heart's song and dance in peace. Have a beautiful day!
