We ran a few errands and went to lunch then decided to just settle in for a movie at home. Working different schedules and the added exhaustion of pregnancy hasn't left many opportunities for us to just snuggle up on the couch together. It was the perfect, relaxing day.
Then we dressed up just a little to head out to the party. It was so nice to socialize with friends we haven't seen in literally years. We joked about me being pregnant with our two-year-old daughter the last time we hung out and how exhausting it will be if we only get together when I am pregnant. We made some new friends there as well. And I even stayed up until a semi-decent time!
Sunday was filled with its usual family lunch with my family and getting out daughter and dog back. The evening at home turned into a family dance party followed by taking turns reading books to our daughter. It was a perfect wind down to a great balanced weekend.
I'm so grateful to get to have a date day with my husband and reconnect. I'm grateful to get to just relax and take some time to unwind. I'm grateful to get in some social time as well. I'm grateful to reconnect with old friends and make new ones. I'm grateful and excited for a newly expecting couple we met. I'm grateful for our Sunday lunches with my parents, brother and sister. I'm grateful to see how much my daughter adores her family, and not just because her aunt and uncle bring her little treats. I'm grateful for our family dance party. And I'm grateful for story time and my daughter even reading a book to us. I'm grateful to have such a blessed and balanced weekend.
What was the best part of your weekend? What blessings do you appreciate most in your life? Who do you choose to spend your free time?
May today remind us the simple things are frequently the biggest blessings. May we enjoy the time we have with those we love. Have a beautiful day!
