I sat on the couch and waited as my laptop gave it's trademark spinner to show it was waking up. Around and around the little light turned. I focused on my breath and thought about what I was grateful for today. It was a good weekend full of abundance at work and relaxing by the chiminea yesterday. There was family time and laughter. But what was I grateful for today; not looking backward but in this moment?
Honestly I am grateful for the slow startup of my computer.. I can't always say that but this morning as I tried to start the day in a rush it was a nice reminder to just slow down. IT was nice to just take a dozen breaths and think about the great weekend and the moment I am in now.
I'm grateful for the delay. I'm grateful to focus on this moment instead of the past or future. I'm grateful for clear, deep breaths. I'm grateful for the envelope of quiet darkness as I am the only one up downstairs. I'm grateful for the sound of the heater kicking on keeping the house comfortable. I'm grateful for hte pitter patters of the shower going upstairs. And I'm grateful for one more day with my sweet dod, Austin, who has struggled this year.
What are you grateful for in this moment? When has being delayed turned out to be a good thing?
May today remind us all to focus on the moment. May we find positivity in delays and smile at the extra time we are given. Have a beautiful day!
