Today as I sit at my kitchen table and look out over the wild forest that is our backyard I cannot help but imagine all the enchanted life that could be tucked away in the trees. I know there is wildlife in abundance and occasionally I get to see rabbits or a groundhog or fox making their way through the yard. But what if, there are more mystical things as well, like fairies and gnomes?
I'm grateful for my imagination. I'm grateful to believe in the enchanted and to let my mind play in the possibilities. I'm grateful to have kept my childlike enthusiasm and hope. And I'm grateful for creations that spark it.
I'm grateful for the arboretum's trails all decorated this month. I'm grateful for the time and effort they took to put that together. And I'm grateful for the experience, not only for myself, but to witness the excitement of children out there in nature looking for the next fairy home. I'm grateful for the inspiration and for those parents that took the time to bring their children out in nature for such a wonderful display.
What sparks your imagination? What leaves you feeling enchanted and connected to that childlike wonder?
May today renew that spark of wonder in us all. May we find joy in the mystical possibilities. Have a beautiful and enchanted day!
