I'm grateful to wake rested. I'm grateful to start the day by helping my boyfriend load up for his fun weekend getaway. I'm grateful that he is taking some time off to go on a trip and relax with the guys. I think it is important for all of us to take time for ourselves and reboot. One way I can tell when I am needing some time to breathe and reconnect is when I notice my emotions seem to feel overwhelming instead of just guideposts. When I have trouble seeing what my emotions are trying to tell me instead of just allowing myself to be overtaken by them then I know it's time for some down time. Most often for me a simple meditation or quiet moment in nature is enough. When that is not enough I also find it is important to not get caught up in the emotions of self-judgement or allowing those emotions to become my whole reality. Emotions are meant to guide us BACK to truth and God and happiness. They are our compass and when the emotions stray from joy and contentment then we know a change is needed. I'm grateful to know that I need to take time for myself this week as well. I'm grateful to feel my emotions and let them guide me (not rule me) back to balance.
