It may sound strange to those who have never needed one but my pump, or boob juicer as I like to call it, really does provide comfort. And when my kiddo is going through "snacking" times without having a full meal, it is a life saver.
I also did not realize before having a child how much time I would spent hunched over. As a nanny I was conscious of this and made an effort to keep my shoulders rolled back and my spine straight throughout the day. When it is a child of my own, however, I find that there is less conscious effort put toward this as exhaustion takes the place of most conscious actions at this stage. And in the wee hours of night, having gotten up for the third or fourth time and still hours left to go before dawn, my posture is the last thing on my mind. Thank goodness for heating pads to refresh for a new day!
I'm so grateful for my heating pad. I'm grateful for the ease it gives my muscles. I'm grateful for the warmth it provides on a cool morning. I'm grateful for my pump that relieves the pressure when my daughter has not. I'm grateful for both these conveniences and so many others. I'm grateful for the inventors that came up with these helpers to make life a little more comfortable.
What inventions help your day be more comfortable? What modern conveniences would you prefer to never go without?
May today bless us with comfort and convenience. May we find gratitude for the helpful tools of modern times. Have a beautiful day!
