It was the perfect girls' weekend. An honorary grandma made the trek too and we all had fun chasing the baby. We went swimming and took her to the park to see real live ducks. We played at the playground, cut another tooth, ate awesome food, and got some good nature exploring in all in less than forty-eight hours.
Coming home we were both exhausted. The trip was a success. My daughter now has experienced a girls' weekend and I'm sure there will be many more to come. We are so very blessed.
I'm grateful for my awesome mother-in-law who made such a crazy trip possible and enjoyable. I'm grateful for her longtime friend that joined in on the fun. I'm grateful for my mom who generously kept the dogs to keep the trip from being too much. I'm grateful for the laughs, the conversations, and the time to unwind. I'm grateful for the delicious food. I'm grateful for the opportunity to use the pool at my mother-in-law's boyfriend's gorgeous home. And I'm grateful to make it home to get a long, good night's sleep.
If you could take a weekend trip, where would you go? Would it be for fun or for relaxation? What would it take to make that trip a reality?
May today remind us to take care of our needs, both physical and emotional. May we take the opportunity to get away when we can. Have a beautiful day!
