I hung a prism in the front window so that when the sun comes up in the morning, it casts rainbows across the floor and walls. My daughter and I made a fun game of chasing rainbows.
But what about the days the sun doesn't peel through? What about the days that are just gloomy or grey?
I think it is important to know that we each have the power to create our own rainbows. We have the power to shift our thinking and "bend the light" to find something beautiful in each moment. And the more we practice, the easier it becomes.
Gratitude is one way I make rainbows. There is always something I can find to be grateful for no matter what is happening and by focusing on my gratitude it casts a little light into my heart.
I'm grateful for a pillow to support my neck while I type this morning. I'm grateful to know that any tight muscles will loosen as I move around for my day. I'm grateful for a great bed to sleep in at night and the quiet of no more critters in the wall. I'm grateful for the peace of rising before my family to type a blog to start my day. I'm grateful for a fun day ahead and to know laughter and family will be a part of it.
What are you grateful for today? How can you create your own rainbow?
May today remind us to be the light. May we see beauty and love all around us. Have a beautiful day!
