It's a new year and with that comes all kinds of resolutions and goals that we set for ourselves to improve ourselves and our lives. It is easy to choose what is best when you are feeling energetic and motivated, especially when you are on your own. Throw in a significant other, kids, or even just well meaning family and friends that want to hang out and it can become more of a challenge to keep those goals. One of my goals is to go to bed earlier so I can get a full night's sleep. Being engaged to a night owl this can sometimes be a challenge, though he does his best to be supportive. Making the conscious decision to have any discussions about upcoming events, issues, or wedding plans over dinner instead of at bedtime can make all the difference on making it to bed on time. Listening to calming music or meditating before bed also helps me drift off to sleep fast and sleep better. What goals have you set for yourself? How can you choose what's best while still taking into account the self and family needs that have to be met? I'm grateful to have started reading The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin. I'm grateful for the way she sets goals while remaining mindful of real life and her other obligations. I'm grateful to be motivated to make a change each month toward a more healthy lifestyle so that this year of growth can be awesome! I'm grateful for the year starting off on such a good note and I look forward to all the blessings that are to come. I'm grateful to have started the year with my photography up for display and sale and I'm grateful to bring what is left home today. Thank you to all who made it out to MudPie in support and thank you to all who follow along with this blog. I'm so grateful to each of you for being a part of this journey. Have a beautiful day!
