There are situations where I just want to give in and have someone do something for me. And there are situations that are great for practicing asking for help. But I do love those times where I find the encouragement I need and manage to do something myself that I wasn't sure I could.
Today I got to be on the other side of this. Today I got to be the cheerleader for my daughter as she struggles to figure out how to crawl. It is hard when she gets frustrated to not give in and just scoop her up. But I know that by encouraging her and helping her to figure it out she will build that confidence.
Don't get me wrong, crawling isn't learned in a day. But each day I get to step back a little longer or a step farther and remind her that she can figure it out. It doesn't have to look the way I think it "should", the goal is her reaching what she wants. It can come in a variety of ways as long as she meets her goal.
The same is true for me. Success has a million different looks depending on what I set as my goal. Knowing I can reach the goals I set is a great feeling. And knowing I have cheerleaders behind me if I forget my own strength is a blessing in itself.
I'm grateful for all the cheerleaders in my life. I'm grateful for all the confidence they have helped me build over the years. I'm grateful to be a cheerleader for my daughter and help her grow her problem solving skills. I'm grateful for the variety of ways I see success. And I'm grateful for all those who celebrate those successes with me.
What are you working toward this week? Who is your cheerleader when you are struggling?
May today remind us that we are on a team. May we celebrate our successes with those who offer us encouragement. Have a beautiful day!
