It is a blessing to me to get to stay home and be the one to raise our daughter rather than take her to daycare. Don't get me wrong, daycare can be a wonderful place, but being a mom was a dream of mine and I am glad to stay home like my mom did with me.
Yesterday was National Men Make Dinner Day. While the housewife may be falling out of majority, I think the men cooking is on the rise. Or maybe it just seems that way because my husband cooks for us more than I do. My husband is an amazing chef.
I'm grateful to break the mold and do what fits our family best. I'm so grateful for my husband's wonderful culinary skills. I'm grateful for his job that allows the flexibility for me to be home during the day. I'm grateful for my jobs' flexibility that allows me to work evenings and fit clients in here and there so I can continue to bring in some income while being with my daughter most the day. I'm grateful for the balance my husband and I have found in making our own rules and using our skills for the benefit of the all three of us.
What ways to you break the mold? What balance have you found in using your skills and talents?
May today remind us we are the creators of our story. May we use the skills that make us happy and may those skills support us in the ways we need. Have a beautiful day!
