As I prepared for bed I reflected on how good it would be to have a weighted blanket. There is just something so comforting to me about the weight and slight pressure they provide.
Instead I decided to snuggle up with my dog who had been asking for attention all day and turn on a meditation. As I rested on the floor she adjusted herself so her head was on top of me. We had to do a little compromising so her head was not on my face but once we got settled it was very comfortable.
The weight of my fur-baby resting on me was a comforting pressure much like a weighted blanket would provide. But this weighted blanket provided something extra...love. The feel of her breathing helped me time my own breath. Her love for an evening cuddle was palpable.
I'm so grateful to ask and receive. I'm grateful to recognize the blessings I have. I'm grateful to take time to meditate and get my spirit back on track. I'm grateful for the best kind of weighted blanket. I'm grateful to have such a sweet dog. I'm grateful my dog is a snuggler, even when her weight nears my own. I'm grateful to reset last night so I could wake emotionally renewed this morning.
How do you reset? Do you have a snuggle partner? Have you ever tried a weighted blanket?
May today remind us that often what we need is already provided in some form or another. May we celebrate the pure love of our pets and soak up their healing snuggles. Have a beautiful day!
