Today is National Best Friends Day. I am happy to say I will get to see several great friends this week as I book up my social calendar. Today I am blessed to get to spend some time with a dear, spiritual friend of mine. And while one of my best friends, my husband, is away this week I am still surrounded by an abundance of friends, last but not least my sweet fur-babies.
It is said that dog is man's best friend. My girls show never-ending love and loyalty. They are quick to get to me when I come home and quick to forgive if I do something they don't like. They are great friends to me, though sometimes I worry that I do not reciprocate quite to their level. These two sweet pups are definitely counted among my best friends.
I'm grateful for having these two furry companions. I'm grateful to wake to their soft rustles or even cold noses in the morning. I'm grateful with their patience when I am not able to give them the amount of attention they desire. I'm grateful for all my two-legged friends. I'm grateful for the ones who have been around for a season but are proving to be deep and wonderful friendships. I'm grateful for those friendships that have been around a lifetime and have taught me so much about myself and what a true friendship can be. I'm grateful to be in love with one of my best friends and feel that love reciprocated even when he is away. And I'm grateful for lots of friend time this week as I offer more time for my social calendar.
Who are your friends? How many have been around for more than a couple years? Who is new to your friendship but making a big impact? How can you show gratitude for their friendship today?
May today bless us with ways to express our gratitude for the important people in our lives. May we find time to spend with those who mean the most to us. Have a beautiful day!
