There is a certain amount of pride and accomplishment in feeling, or calling yourself, an expert. Whether it be in your field of study or at your job, we often hear people singled out as experts. These people generally have been doing what they do for a while and seem to have all the answers. But what if I told you that you, every single one of you, are an expert? It doesn't matter what background you came from, what level of schooling you have received, or how much money you make at your job. In fact, it is not determined by any of these societal goal posts we often use to mis-gauge status, knowledge, or especially worth. Our worth is inherent. It is not something that can be earned or lost. Our worth is equal to every single other person on the planet because it was something with which we were born. Our successes and our errors have no weight on our worth as a person because we are all here for a unique purpose and under a unique set of situations. Being and expert is the same. You are inherently an expert in your life and in your journey. No one has walked in your place before. Even those with similar struggles or situations and even those who go through the same event will all interpret it differently depending on the way they choose to see and define it and the other circumstances and situations they have already defined. Your journey is uniquely yours and therefore you are each an expert. Now, if I am going to have surgery or fly overseas, of course I want to choose someone to assist me that is an expert in that field. None of us are an expert in every field. None of us need to be placed on a pedestal by those seeking our assistance because the only place to go from a pedestal is down. We seek out those who have the answers or the services we are looking for to continue and sometimes change our journey. This does not make them better than you. You are your own expert. Even within the information they provide, you get to determine what level you subscribe to their knowledge and to what level and interpretation you will accept their expertise. I am grateful to be an expert in my own life. I'm grateful that the lessons I have learned can be shared with others as they look to change their own lives. I'm grateful to be sought out for information and to also remain planted on equal ground. I'm grateful to reach out to people who are experts in their own fields for guidance on matters I am wanting to learn more. I'm grateful to reach out to people who have been in my field of work longer than I have and gain tips and knowledge from them as I continue this beautiful journey. I'm grateful for every path that crosses mine, parallels mine, or intermingles with mine, knowing that each one is a gift. I'm so grateful to share my journey with each of you and I'm grateful to hear about your journeys as well. What is your area of expertise? Who knows more about you and your life than yourself? Embrace being an expert today. Allow yourself to ask questions and seek the knowledge you need while still honoring your always present, every changing expertise in this moment. May your day be blessed with reassurance that you are worthy and the knowledge that you are equal. May you celebrate today in all it's possibilities. Have a beautiful day!
I believe the way to a better future starts with gratitude today.
