Our communities need us. The schools need our vote so the neighboring children can grow into productive, prosperous adults. The mom and pop shops need us to stay in business. And the green spaces and parks need us to maintain then in a way that is best for people and wildlife.
Our bees need us and we need them. They give us honey. They pollinate our flowers. They do so much behind the scenes of the small buzzing sound we hear. They show us about community and working together. And they need us, as a community to come together.
I do not write this today as a lecture. I write it as awareness. Can you imagine if we worked half as hard as they do all for the community? Some people do and that is beautiful. But the majority, myself included, get caught up in the day to day of our own lives and often miss the changes happening around us.
Today I am grateful to take pause and view my community. I'm grateful to tune into its needs and take time to explore how I can help. I'm grateful to be seeing some bees around my home as the flowers bloom. And I'm so grateful for all the hard work they do pollinating. I'm grateful for the symbol they represent for me and for the lesson they remind me about being community, not just in one.
What do you do to help your community? I would love feedback so I can explore options I may not have thought of yet.
May you bee happy today and feel a part of the community. May our eyes be opened to ways we can strengthen our community.
