I hear the strong wind blowing through the trees but I am mostly sheltered from it here. I get a small gust every now and then that dips below the trees, between the houses. Mostly I just hear nature's music as the leaves, dead and live make a special kind of maraca melody.
I'm so grateful for this beautiful weather. I'm grateful to be getting a good dose of Vitamin D today. I'm grateful to have attempted to take my little ones on a short bike ride today, even if it did not work out so well. I'm grateful to just be outside in November without a heavy jacket or coat! I'm grateful to have a little fun drumming out on the deck today as my and my girls celebrated making noise (which is harder to do in the house now that my husband works from home). I'm grateful to cast of some grump that had settled in the last couple days with lack of sleep. I'm grateful to let the wind carry it away. I'm grateful to just smile. I'm grateful for the picnic we had for lunch and that my husband was able to come out and join us. I'm grateful to have such a beautiful day so late in the year.
I do realize that tomorrow the rain is supposed to move in and by the weekend the temperatures will be in the forties. I can't really complain with the mostly mild Autumn we have had. It is my plan to find fun ways to enjoy the outdoors even as the weather turns. This is something I struggle with most years but now that we are home so much I am more committed.
I'm grateful for the seasons and to live in a place that truly gets all four. I'm grateful to enjoy these nice days. I'm grateful to make the commitment to enjoy the outdoors even in the cold.
What do you love to do on a nice day? What is your favorite thing to do outside in the Winter?
May today fill our cups with joy and gratitude. May these blessings stay with us through the Winter and perhaps even multiply. Have a beautiful day!
