I love having guests. I especially enjoyed getting to see family members we rarely see. I love getting to see the city through others' eyes and experiencing the places we rarely go if we don't have visitors. I love the busyness of visitors.
Guests are like a fit of giggles you have with a good girlfriend. The aftermath is the return to normal, regulated breathing. It is equally welcome because the energy of the laughter still flows through.
I'm grateful for this quiet moment on my sofa. I'm grateful to walk through my home in pajamas. I'm grateful for the fun week we had and the ability to get to know some of my family better. I'm grateful for the sharing of stories and laughter. I'm grateful to get to travel around to corners of the city I rarely go and see it with the fresh eyes of visitors. I'm grateful for the sleep we lost because we were having too much fun and I'm grateful to begin catching up on it last night. I'm grateful to have a pretty routine week ahead to get us all back on schedule.
What is your favorite thing that disrupts your schedule? What is your favorite thing about returning to the routine?
May today remind us the blessing in keeping and letting go of our routines. May we find a balance in life and may that balance be rooted in love and family. Have a beautiful day!
