There is no question I am grateful for freedom of speech. The ability to speak out about things I don't like about policies and plans is as important as my ability to sing this country's praises. It is this liberty that allows us to keep tweaking this country and policies to make it better.
Speech does not need to be angry of loud when we disagree. A conversation can be had with both sides given a chance to speak. I will listen to my opposition's points as I request they listen to mine. It is this exchange that gives us the best solution for all. In the end we can celebrate with fireworks and pride as we built the country in the best way possible.
I'm grateful for this belief. I'm grateful that even when our human follies make us fall short of this ideal, the ideal itself is still there to strive for again. I'm grateful for the many beliefs that make this country what it is today. I'm grateful for the people who are equally willing to listen as they are willing to talk. I'm grateful for the boom of success when it happens and we come to agreements. I'm grateful to celebrate the liberties of this country with fireworks overhead.
What is your favorite thing about where you live? How do you like to celebrate?
May today remind us that no single person is always right. May we listen as much as we speak and find solutions for all. Have a beautiful day!
