I was blessed to have a lot of aunts growing up. Both my parents came from pretty big families and there were always aunts around. My daughter on the other hand only has two. One lives out of state which leaves most the work up to the one here. But she has really stepped up to the challenge!
Now with another baby on the way I am even more grateful to have such a great sister-in-law. And today is her birthday! We cannot wait to celebrate with her this Sunday but in the meantime I hope she has a wonderful birthday weekend!
I'm so grateful to have such a wonderful, close-knit family. I'm grateful for the million ways my sister-in-law has been there for me over the years. And I'm grateful for what an amazing aunt she is to my daughter. I'm grateful for how much my daughter adores her already. I'm grateful to know they will grow a strong bond as she gets older. I'm grateful for all the aunts I had growing up that all had their different strengths. And I'm grateful for the way the ones my daughter has have stepped up to fill that role.
How many aunts (or uncles) did you have growing up? Were they good role models for you? What are your favorite memories of them?
May today remind us that family is so important. May we embrace the extension of the family with open arms knowing everyone has a role to play. Have a beautiful day!
