I'm grateful for a sunset drive out of town last night with my boyfriend and dogs. I'm grateful for the oportunity to visit his family and celebrate his mom's 70th birthday. I'm grateful to stay up late laughing and sleep in this morning. I'm grateful for the technology that allows me to share my thoughts with you even when wi-fi is unavailable. I'm grateful to find contentment in these moments. Contentment is not the same as settling. It is not a feeling of "I guess this is good enough for now" or "I don't deserve more than this so I guess I'm happy". Contentment is whole. It is a peace within that moment knowing you are blessed to have all you need. Contentment is not a lack of joy but rather the place of resting in that joy. What do you feel in the moments you label contentment? What joy can you find in that peace? If there is something missing, ask for it. Allow that greater abundance to come in. I say this from a place of learning, not teaching. I say this as a reminder to myself because I do struggle with remembering it is ok to ask for things. But having asked last night, I find myself waking content today. Giving myself permisdion to go to a vulnerable place of saying my needs out loud allowed those to be met. I'm grateful for this. I'm grateful for my boyfriend and his family. I'm grateful to have my dogs with me. And I'm grateful for finding contentment on my journey. May your day be blessed with contentment and may you feel the joy within it. Have a beautiful day!
I'm grateful for a night to get back in touch with myself. I'm grateful to know authenticity is not perfection nor imperfection. I'm grateful to have seen illusions fall around me last night as I contemplated the story I have been creating. I am love. I may have anger, frustration, fear, insecurity, pain, craziness, overexcitement or the hum drums as I shift through the ever changing present but at the core I am still love. At the core I am still my own perfection. And it doesn't matter who sees me in these moments because they have those moments too. I am human. My authenticity means owning that human roller coaster while not being attached to any of it. It is my ride. I create it's ups and downs, twists and turns as I choose my reality but my authenticity is to not let my car get tangled in that track, in that story. My authenticity allows me to be who I am in each moment and know that it is ok, both the "good" and the "bad" aspects, the light and the dark, they are all constantly shifting and changing as long as I am in the flow. But when I grab on to one aspect, try to hold it or try to resist it I am then caught in it. And even that is a story. The truth is I am always where I choose to be and I always have infinite choices. I choose happiness. I choose to not be the gratitude coach that is perfectly in gratitude but rather the gratitude mentor AND student who is always PRACTICING living in gratitude; living in that authenticity and FEELING gratitude. Because gratitude doesn't work if you don't mean it. It doesn't work if you don't FEEL it in your heart. Only you can choose to do that. I can give you tips, give you processes and practices but in the end it is only YOU that can choose gratitude. It is only YOU that can shift your life. I have no special power to give you. I only have the infinite power of myself to do my best to model it. I need reminders sometimes. I choose the darkness sometimes. But in the end, I fill myself up. We gain from our interactions from others. We gain love and insights. Yet only you can fill yourself up. No matter how much someone else loves you, they cannot fill you. But they can model it for you by how it looks for them. For me, it is gratitude and meditation. For me, it is falling in love with each day. For me, it is play and laughter. I'm grateful for a night of filling up. I'm grateful for those who shared this space with me and modeled different aspects of that for me. I'm grateful to have been open to the lessons and I'm grateful for recognizing authenticity as outside the shoebox I had put it in before. What is your authenticity? What brings you joy? How do you fill yourself up? Thank you for joining me today. Thank you for these moments we share. May your holiday weekend be blessed with the story you choose. May you know your own power in creating your life. Have a beautiful day!
I'm so grateful to put a smile on my face as I meditated this morning. I'm grateful to wake slowly and happily. I'm grateful for the fun day ahead. I'm grateful to add play into my workday and into my interactions. I'm grateful for co-workers that love to laugh. I'm grateful to have a fun night planned with friends, for us to come together to share, laugh, and support each other. Finding time to play is vital in maintaining happiness. Laughter and smiles are great medicine, especially when shared with the ones I love. Often when people comment on how young I look I respond that it is because I have not forgotten how to play. Over the last few months I have noticed an imbalance in my play. After not enough play, the pendulum swung and I began taking a bit too much time for play, putting it before work in a few cases. Now I am back finding balance. Yes, we all have obligations to meet and work is important in paying the bills and stepping up to our responsibilities. But play is an important way to unwind and renew the spirit. And play can even be added into work, in some cases. It doesn't have to be cartwheels and vacations to incorporate play. Play can be as simple as laughter shared with a coworker on break over a silly video or a funny story. Play can be leaving notes around the house for your loved ones to find. Play can be taking a moment to walk the dog or play fetch. There are millions of ways to play! I'm grateful for all the ways I enjoy playing with the people around me. I'm grateful for the more extreme forms of play like cartwheels and vacations too. I'm grateful to have a job that is flexible and coworkers that are fun. And I'm grateful for this picture of my dog, Pippin, who is a great reminder for me to play. I'm so grateful for all the lessons that my dogs and the children in my life teach me about what's important. What forms of play can you incorporate in your day? What balance can you find in youthful laughter? May your day be blessed with laughter and fun and may you have a safe, beautiful holiday weekend!
When I was in Arkansas a couple weeks ago, camping and scuba diving, I saw this waterlily bud resting in a pond. There were beautiful white waterlilies bloomed all around it but this one was waiting. It was still early, maybe seven in the morning. I found it very inspiring. Life is a journey. It's not about knowing where that journey will end, it's about enjoying each moment until it does. It's not about knowing this waterlily will bloom. The joy I found was in awaiting the magical moment. I continued on my way that day and the following afternoon as I passed that pond, there it was beginning to open. Each day there are so many opportunities to take and we don't always know which one will pan out; or at least I don't. But I make my choices and enjoy each one, awaiting what will develop. My life is a journey of moments that add up into something magical that I can not fully imagine yet. I can dream about it, and I do, but the reality is always more than I picture. I'm grateful for the beauty of this waterlily. I'm grateful it was waiting for its perfect moment to bloom. I'm grateful to know I will "bloom" when it is time but I'm even more grateful to know that it is the moments between now and then that make all the difference. I'm grateful to enjoy this moment. I'm grateful to feed my heart and spirit each day. I'm grateful to laugh. I'm grateful for this journey of moments. (And I'm grateful for toenail clippers. Random thought but it's true.) What moments will you choose to be grateful for today? What moments will you enjoy while you are awaiting the "bloom"? I'm grateful for the excitement of awaiting what will come. And I'm grateful for each moment of joy between now and then. May your day be blessed with many buds and may you find joy in each moment while awaiting their bloom.
Each day I am blessed with so much to be grateful for and each day I have the choice to see those blessings or ignore them. I try my best to choose to see them in each moment but sometimes I fall a little short of that expectation. Today I choose to see the beauty. Today I choose to feel how blessed I am. Today I choose to remember to share gratitude and love. I'm grateful to wake this morning. I'm grateful for the opportunity of a new day. I'm grateful for the patience of my dogs as I work. I'm grateful for their joy when I take a break to play with them. I'm grateful for my loving boyfriend that asks the simple questions like how I am feeling or how I slept. I'm grateful to know he would do anything within his power for me and I'm grateful to feel the same. I'm grateful for loving parents that are willing to help us with home projects that they have more knowledge on than me. I'm grateful for the food and water that is readily available to me and often taken for granted. I'm grateful to have a vehicle to get to and from work to make a living. Each of these simple blessings make a world of difference. I'm so grateful and so blessed. What blessings do you choose to see today? What simple things make all the difference in your day? Today I vow to smile, laugh, and show my gratitude for the blessings in my life. Will you join me? May today be filled with awareness for the simple blessings and may joy and gratitude ring out from our hearts! Have a most beautiful Wednesday, everyone!
Last night I dreamed that life was a game. There was a map of opportunities and you could choose any ones you wanted. You could take as many or as few as you liked but each opportunity opened up new opportunities to pick from. It was a game that wasn't won or lost. Each person could pick the opportunities they enjoyed and drop or pass the ones they didn't. It was ever shifting. I found the dream very interesting as I often think of my life as a path to follow along my purpose. My dream last night seemed to portray it as all opportunities being my purpose because of the lesson in taking or passing each. I also found this dream interesting as I just took on a part-time nanny job because I was missing the laughter and spirit of children and needing a little more flexibility with my finances. It is part of the opportunity game. I'm chosen another spot on the map, picked up another card, and am opening my heart to where it will all lead. I'm grateful for this dream. I'm grateful to have been offered another view, one where I am not stepping off my current path, merely widening it at this current junction. I'm grateful to have an opportunity to be with children again and hear their laughter and watch their triumphs. I'm grateful for a fun and loving family that is seeking flexible help with their children. I'm grateful to believe I can find balance in this additional job. I'm grateful for all the opportunities that are available to me. Do you believe in the opportunity game? What opportunities are you choosing to take and which ones will you let pass? Are you happy with these choices? I believe everyone has a right to live their dreams. I believe the universe gives us these opportunities frequently if we are looking. I'm grateful to continue pursuing my dream of being a Gratitude and Empowerment Coach. I'm also grateful to have so many opportunities presented to me along the way to support me as I build that dream. May your day be blessed with rewarding opportunities. May you find joy in the ones you choose to take. Have a beautiful day!
This morning I am feeling empowered. I'm grateful to feel like I have the power to create my journey. I'm grateful to know that I create my reality. I'm grateful for self-love and forgiveness. I'm grateful for the amazing people in my life, especially my patient boyfriend. I'm grateful to have clarity on the things I want to see in my life and the things I do not. I'm grateful to know the power is within me to choose to change the things about myself that I want to change. I do not have to identify with who I used to be if I no longer want to be that person. Gratitude has helped me so much with that. I'm so grateful for how changing my perspective has changed and continues to change my life. I'm grateful for each lesson I learn and for the power of self-care. I wanted to share this picture with you today because it was the collaboration of my boyfriend and I as we talked about possibilities in life. The seed of possibilities growing into the solid oak of life with all its many branches just by adding my own loving light. I am the creator of my journey. A couple years ago I tattooed the key words of the Serenity Prayer (Serenity, Courage, Wisdom) on symbolic places on my body (back of neck, foot, and behind my ear) to serve as a reminder. I added Journey to my wrist because I truly believe life is a journey, not a destination. I put it on my wrist so that each time I reach for something I am reminded that I am building this journey with each move. Sometimes I get frustrated or disheartened that my dreams and my coaching practice are building slower than I hoped but then I look at the amazing people I have worked and am working with and that is what it is truly about, THIS moment. I'm grateful to do my part to help people empower their lives and find their gratitude. I'm so grateful for each client that God and the Universe send my way. I'm grateful to be reminded of this amazing journey and I'm glad to be creator of how I choose to view my blessings and situation. Thank you for being here with me today. Thank you for continuing to read my blog. Thank you for all those striving to live in gratitude and share that positive energy with the world. I'm so grateful to be here with you. What will you create today? How can you recognize your own power in creating your journey? I'm grateful to hear all the wonderful things you do in your own life as you build the life you dream. May your day be blessed with empowerment. May you reach for your dreams and be rewarded. May you see your world in the beautiful light of love. Namasté.
I'm grateful to have so many opportunities to give back. I'm grateful to be a part of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge twice, once for work and once for myself. I'm grateful for the creativity and play people use when helping spread awareness for a great cause. I'm grateful to be able to do what I can in memory of the Grandpa I did not get to know because of ALS. I'm grateful to be a part of the Head For The Cure race today with friends and family. I'm grateful to have been a part of an amazing, strong, loving friend's journey as she taught us all so much during her battle with brain cancer. I'm grateful for all the people that turn out in support of this cause to help find cures. I'm grateful for all the amazing people in this country and in this World that come together in support of each other in times of need. I'm grateful to give back. I'm grateful for health and the health of my family and I'm grateful to do what I can to raise money and awareness to bring other people's families back to health. What causes are important to you? How can you help raise awareness for the causes that mean the most to you? I'm grateful for the glow of love I feel in my heart when I think of the courage and strength these people show. I'm grateful to show my support. Our challenges are others' inspirations. May your day be blessed with health and love. May you know peace in this day and may you share that with those around you. Have a be
I'm grateful to wake to the soothing sounds of early morning. I'm grateful to wake with the rest of the house still sleeping. I'm grateful to sit in my favorite room and gaze out at the back yard in its dark, wooded calm. I'm grateful for the sound of the distant train and the sounds of the insects, birds, and squirrels as they sing their morning song. I'm grateful for the sound of running water and the ease I will feel as I let it run over my head, washing away the night. There are so many things to hear when I stop to listen. Even while I work the clicks of my keyboard add to the melody of the sunrise song going on outside. The soft sound of dogs breathing as they settle back into sleep, awaiting the day. It is such a beautiful time of day and I'm grateful to be witness and participant. What are your favorite sounds of the morning? What sounds bring you peace and gratitude throughout the day? May your day be blessed with the beautiful sounds of peace and may you find the time to listen to its song. Have a beautiful day!
I'm grateful to return home this morning. I was not out of town or on a visit. I was only outside my balance, my self-care, and my inner peace. I'm grateful to return to it. Home is the Om within. It can be found anywhere if your heart and spirit are at peace. Physically I have been in my house but I have fallen out of the practice of meditating, doing yoga, and taking the time I need for myself. In making just a small effort to step back into that place I find that it is right here waiting for me. I'm so grateful to reconnect. I'm grateful to give myself time to unwind. I'm grateful for the calm reassurance of meditation. I'm grateful to feel my muscles stretch and tire as I do some much needed yoga. I'm so grateful to be home. I'm grateful to feel that inner peace. How do you return home? How do you find balance and peace in your day? Do you take the time you need for yourself to return to this place? Be love. Be peace. Be home. Model these for the children in your life and feel the blessing of living it for yourself. May your day be blessed with time for self-love and a return to your inner home. May you find peace within your heart. Have a beautiful day! Namasté.
I believe the way to a better future starts with gratitude today.
