Love is the behind saying, "after you", "let me help you", and "you're not alone". Love gives comfort. Love gives hope. And love gives strength.
Love is what allows us to put aside our fear to be strong for the one we love. Love is the power to carry sixty pounds when you've been on a twenty pound weight restriction for months. Love is saying "we can do this together."
Love was there for me yesterday when my dog suddenly could not walk. And love allowed me to be strong for my fur-baby as we made an emergency trip to the vet. Love was a veterinarian that not only said, "I have time now" but also helped to carry her.
Love is not just there in emergencies. It is love that allows me to get up every couple hours with my daughter. It is love that gives me courage to try something new. It is love that is on the other end of the line when I call my husband at work and what walks through the door each evening. Love makes anything possible.
I'm grateful for the strength of love yesterday. I'm grateful to put aside my own fears to stay calm for my dog and find her help. I'm grateful to be able to lift her and carry her down two flights of stairs without pain injury. I'm grateful for a vet that truly cares and goes above and beyond to help in such an unsettling situation. I'm grateful for the love that is always around me from family and friends. I'm grateful for my inner strength to do what needs to be done. And I'm grateful for love's power.
What does love give you the strength to do? How does love show up in your life?
May today be filled with love. May we feel its power and its comfort. Have a beautiful day!
