This morning the baby was sitting on the floor near the water bowl, playing. The dog drank water then stood over the baby dripping water all over her head. She's just trying to share, right?
Next the baby crawled over to my husband and my wedding treasure chest. We had a few "treasures" sitting on top for decoration as well and the quartz crystal caught my daughter's eye. She has an eye for the beauty of nature, a trait I very much appreciate. This morning she is definitely helping me to baby proof as she makes her rounds pointing out things I hadn't noticed before.
After the baby went down for her nap I went to finish cleaning up our breakfast mess. I dropped an empty container on the floor. Both dogs ran in to check the floor in case it might have been something important and I was sure to thank them for running to my aid so quickly. Surely they just don't want me to risk slipping on some spilled food. It's all for my protection.
I'm grateful for humor. I'm grateful for silly sarcasm. I'm grateful to choose to see humor and positive in these situations and laugh through my exhaustion. Or perhaps the exhaustion is what makes everything seem so funny; either way I'm grateful to laugh. I'm grateful for two caring dogs that are a constant source of amusement. And I'm grateful to slow down this morning and just enjoy seeing the house through my daughter's eyes.
What response are you choosing today? How can you find humor in the things that don't go as planned?
May today give us a healthy sense of humor and enough laughter to get through any obstacles. Have a beautiful day!
