As I age I have gained wisdom and experience. I have gained insights into ways I can put my strengths to use to help those seeking a change. I have the confidence to try new things.
Now I know some of you are thinking, "well yeah, but you're still young." Next month I will turn thirty-five. Yes, that is still young. I do not shy away from my age. For me it is a badge of honor and something worth celebrating.
As my birthday approaches I can't help but ask myself what the best things of year thirty-four have been. My daughter, growing as a mother and wife, and more efficient work skills are all among the things that made this year great.
I will continue to age. Looking forward I hope that I am able to accomplish some of the other things on my list of dreams while I am here. From writing a book to growing my family and business, many of these goals are the traditional type of things many people think about. But I have other goals too that are for whimsy. Such as the wish to get my grandma's beautiful white hair in old age so that I can interlace it with bright colors and have amazing hairdos.
Aging is never a guarantee. There have been plenty in my family who passed way too young. I hope that I am blessed enough to celebrate my fiftieth, seventieth, and ninetieth birthdays. And I hope that I always remember what a blessing it is to age each year because not everyone has that opportunity.
I'm grateful to be aging. I'm grateful to be doing it fairly gracefully at this point. I'm grateful to be having an amazing thirty-fourth year. I'm grateful for all the blessings that have graced me thus far. I'm grateful for the health I have kept and the insights and wisdom I have gained. I'm grateful for the years to come. And I'm grateful for all the goals, both traditional and whimsical, that I will be fortunate enough to accomplish.
What is your favorite thing about aging so far? What are some of your goals as you add more years?
May today remind us each day is a blessing. May we celebrate each day we are breathing and always accept the opportunities to laugh. Have a beautiful day!
