This morning I woke with a large to do list. In fact, the list included things that are not supported by the weather this week and yet need done, like finishing painting the house. It was easy to feel overwhelmed and get caught up in thinking it was impossible. But each moment is a choice. So after I acknowledged feeling overwhelmed and getting a few good hugs from my boyfriend, as he headed off to his job this morning, I had a decision to make. How do I want to feel today? I cannot change the fact that we did not get as much done this weekend as we planned. I cannot change the weather. But I can change how I choose to look at this situation. I can choose to just get started on the tasks of the day and do as much as I can do. I can choose to accept that what is meant to get done will get done as long as I choose action. I'm grateful to acknowledge the feelings of being overwhelmed that came up instead of pretending I didn't feel that struggle. I'm grateful to recognize my choice, though, and I'm grateful to ultimately choose action. I'm grateful to now see all the great things I can get done today and how I can work around my obligations to get smaller tasks completed in between. I'm grateful for a supportive and loving boyfriend that was willing to just give me hugs and let me come to this choice on my own. I'm grateful to know that the universe will support what needs done as time allows. I'm grateful for this beautiful morning. What is your to do list today?
