I could say that I have been waiting for this child for ten years, since the miscarriage I had of my first pregnancy. But in reality I have wanted to be a mom since I was six years old and got to hold my newborn cousin for the first time. My hero was my mom and I saw what an amazing job she did with patience and creative redirection.
Now my time is here. I have a loving, supportive husband that is equally as excited for our little bundle of joy. And we have a beautiful miracle on the way. So while the countless hours of painting may have been over the top, it can't compare the level of excitement and anticipation... the LOVE we have for this child.
My love for her will always go above and beyond. Once she is here I'm sure there will be mistakes and days where I don't have the level of patience I wish but hopefully she will forgive all that as she ages and sees all that I would do for her. And this room is only a small indication of the amount of love and effort I will give.
I'm grateful to have big, "over the top" ideas when it comes to things like kids' rooms. I'm grateful for my husband's input that only enhanced the room. I'm grateful for the time he spent to paint dive flag symbols on all the outlet plates. I'm grateful to be in love with the ocean adventure theme we chose. I'm grateful to have a beautiful, healthy daughter on the way. I'm grateful to already love her so very much. And I'm grateful for the wonderful role models I have had in my life, such as my amazing parents.
When do you go above and beyond? What motivates you to go that extra mile? Who has been your role model and your support?
May today bless us with time to thank those who inspire us. May we celebrate today by going above and beyond in whatever area is most important to each of us. Have a beautiful day!
