They have always done this to some extent but since my early hours last week it has become a daily occurrence. "Jingle Jangle, good morning mom!" On the one hand I find this frustrating to be pulled out of my cozy sleep state before my body is ready. Once I am awakened, I'm awake. On the other hand this has been giving me the opportunity to meditate each morning when I otherwise may have slept in until the alarm.
I'm choosing to see it as an opportunity because I believe in building my reality in a positive way. I'm also choosing to start removing their collar when we lay down at night, ha!
But more that just choosing to make the best out of this situation, I would like to focus in the beauty that is in this new greeting. Austin is making a full recovery from her surgery. She is back to her playful, frolicking self. And Pippin, who was struggling with her hips and joints again last week is once again moving around and able to play.
I'm so grateful for their health. I'm grateful for all I have learned from them, from the importance of play to taking time in the moment to unconditional love. I'm grateful for all we have been through over the years. I'm grateful to be able to provide for them and do my best to keep them at their healthiest. I'm grateful to go a little overboard yesterday with new toys and bones for their Christmas presents. And I'm grateful for the jingle-jangle in the mornings that let's me know I have two healthy dogs that are eager to start their day with me.
Do you have pets? What have they taught you? What gratitude do they inspire?
May today bless you with patience for the little things. May you have the time to take a moment to share with your furry friend. Have a beautiful day!
