Waking I found myself faced with a miscommunication with my husband, which can happen after a few rough nights with the little one. As we both rushed to get ourselves and dogs ready we were blurs in passing. The baby woke as my husband was leaving and he tossed a "bye" over his shoulder as I headed back upstairs and he walked toward the door.
As I entered my daughter's room I couldn't help but feel a little sad for the day starting that way. As I greeted her shining face and responded to her mourning routine of labeling the things in her crib I heard a noise behind me. My husband walked in to say good morning to our daughter and hug me goodbye. He also did not want to start the work day with a simple bye.
I'm so grateful for my husband's hug this morning. I'm grateful to be married to an expert hugger. I'm grateful to have a reset and begin the day with a hug. I'm grateful that I was able to get a couple hours of sleep, even if filled with stressful dreams. I'm grateful for my daughter waking up cheerful. And I'm grateful for the day ahead, started on the right path.
How do you reset when the day hasn't started the way you want? Who gives the best hugs in your life?
May today be filled with hugs. May we find the positive supports we need to have a great day. Have a beautiful day!
